Circuit City Going Out of Business Sale!!

I am so glad I am not the only shopoholic in the family! Ever since Circuit City started their going out of business sale Dan has been going almost every day to not one but two Circuit Cities, one near home and one near work. He comes back with something new almost everyday, great deals, and of course my little engineer has to read up and do his research before buying. So far some of the goodies he has come home with...

A new 26" LG HD TV for the bedroom, 30% off, so nice considering we had a huge bulky TV on the dresser.

A speaker dock for my XM radio, 50% off

and something I know I needed and will use a lot on this blog...
A new Olympus camera, 40% off!! My camera has been broken since I left it out by my parents pool last summer! Yay! perfect for my DC trip this weekend!!

He has also come home with computer games, headphones, memory for the camera, scanDisk memory stick for me and other little things! I feel bad that they are going out of business, but the sales are great! They bring new things out every day and the percentages off keep going down!

I know this is delayed...

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines day! I have been so busy at work I haven't had time to write a post. We had a wonderful day just the two of us, relaxing at home. We took turns cooking for each other, Dan made Breakfast and Dinner, I made Lunch and Dessert...I thought I would share some of the recipes...

Dan made Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes for Breakfast

And for Dinner he made Braciole

They were both so yummy!! Some of my favorite things he makes, the picture of the braciole, doesnt do it justice...my camera phone!

For Lunch I made one of my family recipes that Dan loves, Spaghetti Carbonara , I have to say its not the healthiest, but its heavenly.

1 lb Spaghetti
8 oz. Bacon
½ cup Heavy Cream
4 tablespoons Butter
3 Eggs
3/4 cup Parmesan Cheese

Preheat oven to 250, boil water for spaghetti, make as directed, melt 2 tablespoons butter in pan and add 8 oz chopped bacon, cook bacon until crispy, add ½ cup cream and set aside. Put empty casserole dish into oven (until hot). Beat together three eggs and ½ cup parmesan cheese, set aside. Drain pasta and put in hot casserole dish, add egg mixture, 2 tablespoons butter, and bacon mixture, top with parmesan, and serve immediately.

And then for dessert I made mini chocolate cookie cakes and topped them with cookie dough ice cream, yummy!!

Yay Stump!

How cute is this puppy!! (I know he is 10, but I call all dogs puppies)
He is definitely Best In Show!! He was my favorite even before he won his group!(Yes we watched it, Dan does every year, he loves it!)
His story made it even sweeter!
Yay Stump.
I had a cocker spanial growing up and I have been begging Dan for a puppy for a year now. We even have friends who were trying to give away an older cocker spanial and I couldn't convince him. I didn't even know there was such a spanial, but now I am in love!! I am sure now that he won a lot of people will want one! What a cutie!! Stump!

25 random things about me

I got tagged on Facebook to write 25 random things about myself and thought I would post it here also...

1. Since 1st grade I have wanted to be a chef, I was even signed up for culinary school until I decided I could not make the move.

2. I am a crazy pack rat, I save everything, I think it’s because I am very sentimental and like the memories, but it’s out of control. I can only imagine how much worse it will be when we have children.

3. I hate 3 foods, Fishy fish (salmon, canned tuna especially), mango and ketchup. I use to hate mayonnaise, but as long as someone else puts it on I am okay with it in small amounts.

4. I have a really bad shoe obsession, so bad I had to convert my home office into a walk-in closet.

5. My parents have been together since they were 15 and 16, and they are still really cutesy romantic together.

6. While in high school I was a dancer for Disney and got to meet all the c-list celebrities that did the parades with us.

7. Dan and I email nonstop all day long as if we are IMing, we are both are in front of the computer all day so it’s easy to work and do this.

8. I am a software engineer at a big government communications corporation.

9. Dan and I were set up by two mutual friends, one came up with the idea and one did the setup. To this day he has no idea how he came up with the idea.

10. I only have one sibling, a sister 3 years older than me and we are so much a like it’s freaky, yet she has 3 children and a PhD.

11. I bought my house all by myself when I was 22.

12. I don’t have a sweet tooth at all, I rather have cheese than any sweet, Dan however loves everything sweet so I bake a lot.

13. I was hit by a car while walking into a grocery store when I was 20, my hips have never been the same.

14. No matter how many gourmet recipes or restaurants I try I still love Chicken McNuggets, and they are still on my favorite foods list.

15. I love making lists, I have a list and a spreadsheet for everything, I even have a list of lists and a journal of lists.

16. I used my sister’s ID for so long before I was of legal age that I had to continue to be called Kelly at one place long after I turned 21.

17. I am the worse driver I ever met; I failed four driving tests before I got my license, thank goodness Dan likes driving everywhere.

18. My grandmother is 100% Italian and since she taught my mom to cook and my mom taught me most of my staple no recipe needed recipes are very authentic Italian.

19. Anytime someone says the rule about daughters grow up to look like their mothers I show them a picture of my mom and grandmother. My mom is 5’9 blonde hair blue eyes, my grandmother is 4’10, black hair and green eyes.

20. I have three beautiful nieces, 5, 2 ½, and 1 month (this means I will have all boys), I love them so much I can’t even imagine how I will feel about my own.

21. I am not sure what I would do without my DVR.

22. When I was little on the weekends I would stay up late and get up early to watch infomercials and convince my parents to by the crap...and they did.

23. I have lived on Florida’s east coast my entire life, sometimes I want to move but I know I would miss my family and the beach.

24. Every year in school, elementary through high school, I got in trouble for talking too much, yet I still got good grades...it drove my teachers crazy.

25. I love New York City, ever since I was little I have wanted to move there, I grew out of wanting to be a Rockette, but still would love to live there. I use to go once a year, and really miss it.

Decorating: Redoing the Dining Room

Recently I have been given an antique couch that belong to by grandmother, and it has caused a chain reaction of decorating to occur. I have decided to make the dining room into a sitting room and place the couch in there and make what I call the useless room into a dining room. The useless room is the room that we walk through to get from the kitchen to the dining room and living room, and it really has been useless. Right now all that is in it is a buffet table, and two small side tables, but that's about to change. Her is my inspiration board, it will be a while for the table though, we have one that will do for now.

I decided on the paint by using this great tool from Valspar, check it out you can paint a room with the colors and see how it looks...Love it!

Busy Busy Weekend!

What an event filled weekend!! This was my long weekend, 3 days, since I finally got my every other Friday off! It had been a while. I love it when friends have vistors in town for a weekend, we always get invited to all the things they are trying to keep them busy and entertained with! The weekend started off by going with my friend Amy to pick up her friend Lisa, visting from Houston, from the airport and having a fun girly day. We started with shopping at Mall at Millenia. Huge sales at Ann Taylor Loft, Victoria's Secret and Banana Republic, and then some shopping at Tiffany without a sale. I ended up with some great steals! ...some Highlights!...

On sale for $4.94

In Purple, on sale for $4.94

On sale for $7.44, I will have to remove the extra fabric on top, doesnt look very good in person.
A ring I have had my eye on for a while online but wanted to try it on, good thing because it is a half size larger since its two rings in one.

After shopping we went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, so yummy, but I was very good I only had two bites of the tiramisu cheesecake Lisa and I shared. A little more shopping then home to relax, get ready for dinner and grab Dan to meet back up with the girls and their guys. We had a really good unique dinner at Lexi Tapas and Martini Bar, everyones favorite part was the Lobster Mac n' Cheese! After a few martinis we wrapped up the night early because of the day of tennis the next day!

Saturday Amy had signed us up for tennis lessons, a nice lunch , a massage at the tennis club, and then some beer and wine during an exhibition game. Very fun! After that we were tired and decided not to join them for dinner and just got take out and ate at home.

Sunday up for a nice Brunch, sausage and biscuits, my fav, eggs benedict, fresh squeezed orange juice, and real grits! Yummy! Brunch is perfect for Super Bowl Sunday, that way you can skip lunch and start eating around 3 at the party! ...which we did along with margaritas! What a spread, Dan made homemade ribs, I made mini crab cakes, a beef cream cheese dip, spinach dip, mini egg rolls, Pillsbury savorings and this recipe from Bakerella, so yummy!! We did manage to stay up for the entire game, but barely!! We crashed after that and had to DVR The Office. What a great weekend!!

Pink Swap a success!!

I joined the Pink Swap Kappa Prep was having and it was a success!! Emily loved her stuff!! Yay!! It was so fun to shop for!! I can't wait to get my goodies!! I will post when I do!
