Wedding Venue!

So here is my wedding venue, I know for sure I am doing the cocktail hour and reception here and am still trying to figure out if we are doing the ceremony. I am thinking most likely it will be here, its just too pretty to say no! I liked this venue because out of all the hotels on the beach this is the only one with a room that has windows. Whats the point of being on the beach if you cant see it! I am so excited because the cocktail hour will be in a different location than the reception on the beach lawn and deck next to the ceremony.

Huge News!!

I have got some big news!! Danny and I got engaged on Thursday!! It was a total surprise and we are so excited!!! I think I have been on the phone telling people non-stop since Thursday night! I am such a planner, Friday I already met with the wedding coordinator at the hotel we will have the reception, right on the beach and gorgeous! April 10th is the big day!! I am so happy!!

Our new babies!

Here are our new babies!! Olive and Lily!! We finally got to pick them up on Saturday. They have been so much fun, a handful, but so much fun. We didn't want them to be alone the first week, so I stayed home with them yesterday, Dan works from home Tuesday and Thursday, took off Wednesday and I am off Friday. They have been waking up in the middle of the night, but go out and then go right back to bed, its been hard, but they are so cute that we don't mind. They love to play and give kisses, they have been very good about not chewing up anything, the only thing they have been chewing is the mulch in the flower beds, not too bad! I am so happy we finally got puppies!

Great Makeup!

I have always been a huge makeup person, I love trying new things and I am a sucker for all free gift with purchases. I have been trying to find an eye shadow that will stay on all day with no luck, but then I found two new products a week apart that are both fabulous...and came with free gifts!!

The first one is a base that will make any eyeshadow stay on longer and be more like the color on the palette, its by Lancome and called Aquatique Waterproof EyeColour Base, I got mine in Nude, its wonderful and really works!
The second one is Estee Lauders Double Wear Stay-in-Place ShadowCreme, this really lasts all day and comes in great colors for the summer! Of course my favorite color is a limited edition, but hopefully they get new ones to replace it.

New Puppy!

Ever since I lost my dog back in January 2006 to my ex I have wanted a new one, but since I was driving back and forth during the week to Dan’s place it wasn’t doable until November when Dan moved in. Now that we are able to we really wanted to do our research and look for a good one to adopt. In the past I have had two pound puppies that really worked out and I loved, and growing up we had a cocker spaniel my parents got from friends that were breeders, so I knew I either wanted to save a puppy at the pound or get a cocker spaniel. We went to a few pounds a few different times, even used petfinder.com, but had no luck. All the pounds either didn’t have dogs (which was surprising but great) or had only some type of pit-bull mix(not happening). We contacted my parents friends that were breeders, but they no longer breed and didn’t know anyone that did, I then contacted breeders online with no response (weird), so just when I was about to give up, my sister informed me that one of her student’s parents were breeders of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and that they had brought in their litter, three baby girl puppies that were 8 weeks old, for her to see. I couldn’t believe she had not told me before but right away she called them and had they come to her house for me to meet one of the puppies!! She was so cute!!! I couldn’t say no! Then when they said they would be keeping the runt I couldn’t split the other two up!! Danny thought it would be a good idea to get two anyways so they could keep each other company, so now we are getting not one but two puppies!! I am so excited we pick them up Saturday, this week we will be preparing the house and getting all the puppy stuff we need. I will post lots of pictures when we get them!! New Restaurant Review: Tonic

We tried a new restaurant this weekend, Tonic, it actually opened in December, but it was just this weekend when we were trying to figure out where to eat, I am so bad at this, that we remembered we wanted to try it out. The restaurant decor was very nice and the food, service, and drinks were awesome. We decided to do two appetizers each and go with the "petite portion" of the meals we wanted. We were told by the waitress that the portions were small so you could try a lot of different things, so thats what we did.

Dan started off with the seafood bisque and I got the study in cheese, 5 very different cheese all with an accompaniment to enhance the flavor, I love cheese so you cant go wrong there, each was wonderful and I even found a new cheese to love, port du salute. Dan really liked the bisque, he said I wouldn't have liked it because it was too fishy for me, so I didn't try it. Next Dan had the calamari, it was very good with a different kind of sauce than we were use to with calamari, more of a chili sauce it was very good, one of the best calamaris I ever had actually. I had the blue crab gratin, it was so good, the crab wasn't blue but the cheese was and it was creamy with fresh crab and another cheese crisped on top served with crotons, so yummy! For dinner Dan got the Lobster Mac n' Cheese which was so rich and delicious with big pieces of lobster, I could have eaten his whole bowl! I had the crispy filet mignon, it was perfectly cooked with a crispy thinly sliced ham wrapped around it served with an onion tart and seasonal vegetables, very good! Next was dessert, so cute each dessert comes with a shot of something to drink, Dan got a mini funnel cake with a shot of hot cocoa and I got an apple tart with a shot of sweet white dessert wine, my favorite!

All the food was very delicious and the fact that its two minutes from our house is a big plus, there were only two complaints one little silly one and one big...The first silly one is you can tell they spent a lot of time decorating a selecting the finest decor, linens, and tableware, down to even the gorgeous salt and pepper shakers, yet they had these ugly fake plastic plants on the table ug, the second issue and this is a big one was the hostess, we had reservations at 6:30, early for them perfect for us, we get there and there are not that many people and plenty of tables, yet when the hostess seats us she bypasses the gorgeous booths in the front and takes us to a table right next to the bathrooms and kitchen entrance, ew!! Thank god the space between the table and wall was too small for Dan's leg or we would have had to sit there, yuck! I have to say that was the worse seat in the house and didn't start us off on the right foot, luckily our waitress was super sweet and and picked out a lovely wine for me that made me soon forget! We will definitely be going again, next time just requesting a front booth.

Patio Furniture

With Summer just around the corner living in Florida means one thing, entertaining outside! We already have two parties planned for late July and Labor Day weekend, so we have got to get our backyard and pool area ship-shape! Last year just after summer we got a great deal on a grill, we added that and my mini fridge from the garage to our back patio covered section with our old patio furniture.
After a while I decided we needed new patio sets, one for the covered area and one for next to the pool. It took me forever to decide on one for the covered area,but we finally got it!! It was on super sale at Home Depot!
We also ordered a new set for next to the pool from Palm Casual, we just had to go Saturday and pick out a pattern we liked for the cushions and umbrella and we are all set, they should be in on Wednesday!
The yard and house are finally coming together!!
Now we are pressuring cleaning, trimming trees, Dan even had a chain saw out on Saturday, planting plants and putting up a new fence section that fell down, hope its all done by July!!
